The meals served at the Rose Blumkin Jewish Home are always made from scratch by a creative dietary team. Even though we are a healthcare facility, taste drives the dining experience here. Every day residents enjoy a choice of two special entrées at every meal, two vegetables and two starches, homemade soup, and a variety of desserts, as well as “always available” options.

Favorite menu items include Veal Scaloppini, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Prime Rib, Brazed Short-Ribs, Smoked Salmon and Tender Beef Brisket. Enjoy cocktail hour twice a week with our traveling bar cart, we’ll bring the fun to you!

Our in-house baker prepares four homemade desserts to choose from each day. Thoughtfully crafted with quality ingredients and care. From classic homemade favorites like fruit and cream Streusels, Pies, and Cobblers, to creative cakes like Raspberry Ricotta and Chocolate Mint – just another special touch that feels like home.

Special Dietary Accommodations

We’re proud to be one of only two options in Omaha to offer kosher dining, prepared in separate meat and dairy kitchens under strict adherence to Jewish dietary laws. We also accommodate special diets and medical nutrition needs, all without sacrificing flavor or variety.

Not Kosher? No problem! Resident family and friends are welcome to bring food in and dine with their loved one in one of our private dining rooms that feels like home.

On the first and third Friday of each month, Star Kosher Deli opens its doors to the public for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Join us for an eat-in classic NY style deli lunch featuring:

Overstuffed sandwiches on sliced rye
Pastrami, Smoked Turkey and the best Corned Beef in Omaha
Matzah Ball Soup – of course!
Finger foods for kids, like chicken fingers, sweet potato fries, fried pickles
Deli specials like Smoked Brisket, our famous Latke Reubens and Chicken Schnitzel

Star Deli also offers Glatt Kosher meats by the pound.
